I backcame really drawn to Imperial Lane and the possiblities this space allows, I never thoughout how big this space is, and how the connection between fort lane and queen street opens up a deeper layer for development

Im interested in how this empty forgetten space could be used to strength surronding communities

I became really interested in the open and exit of the site, how can I develop movement through the site?
Monday 09.08
This week we focused on expanding further from our intial ideas in week 1 - 3, taking from our ideas and developing an entrance threshold model,

I started to draw sketches taking inspirtion from my explorations in the past couple weeks, I become interested in a fading experience, dirceting people and movement into the site.
​
I was really drawn to the case studies that were presented during class especially Junya Ishigami instalation for Kanagawa Institute of Technology
​
I felt drawn to the simplicty of this installation of this design and how these cut out squares create an immersive space, where this space is set to evoke the landscape, rain, wind, heat, still can enter the space, playing a part into how this landscape evokes this space.
​
Im inspired by how this space becomes a space that brings a community together in a simple and new way, where this space almost feels unreal when entering as the white is seamless and curves up towards the end
​
This case study made me think about the aspect of developing a facade to activate a space, how could I use this method to activate imperial lane, is their a way I could take this method into developing an entrance threshold
Entrance Threshold
I started to think about the idea of layering and expanded on my surface design exploration, how can I think deeper than just a 2-D image, making a connection to thinking in 3-D

I took to the labs and used the layer cutter on aryclic boards, looking at how creating a surface that is physical and allows a view to see the shifting perspective of what underpins an image
This became an experiment where I started to look deeper than just the colours and layers within an image, where I took my exploration into the colours
within a movie and how these colours are developed.
I became interested in the aspect of CMYK, which is cyan, magenta, yellow, key,
​
a scheme for combining primary pigments, I became interested in this colour scheme as in stand alone these colours are plain, but together these colours make up and image and are a combination to so much more.
​
I wanted to explore in generating a facade that used this colour scheme in order to connect to the idea of a cinematic space, how this would definitely be a statement colour scheme to draw in people from the surrounding environment, as there isn't much colour used around lower queen street
Moving Forward
Im interested in generating various facade designs in order to generate ideas, an aspect of my facade as I want it to draw people in seem like a space that is inclusive to all indiviuals

- how can a facade enforce my design principles? is this possible?

- what materials can I use?
​
- how can I incorporate the aspect of layering and the CMYK colour wheel?
​
Following this I want to generate some sketch drawings to keep my mind thinking around possible facade aspects to try and influence the idea of drawing people in
