Holland Power

Week Nine

before moving forward going over my thoughts behind my design and design process
what I wanna achieve
Discussion with Sue
On monday I talked to Sue to fully take through my design and make sure I was going in the right direction,
I received good feedback from my design and shift in the facade design where Sue recommend I look back at my previous artist models, specifically the Eye beam Musemum and take more inspiration, how can this help me

I started to fully programme my space, where I felt in a good place before the co design work shop,
from here I needed to add materials and shift more into a colour perspective to understand the layout of my design
Moving forward:
- doing renders
- making floor plans
- site plans
- abstract
-

Exploring seating options

Exploring Table Options
I started to explore how to layout the seating and tables for the communal working spaces
Because I have never seen the interiors of Level 1 and 2 of Imperial Lane it became hard for me to visualise my proposed space
I started to look at other communal working spaces in Auckland in order to get a sense of how these spaces are laid out,
Although these spaces are catered more to the working community of Auckland, I felt a better understanding looking at these spaces and taking in inspiration

taking inspiration from shared co working spaces in Auckland, a lot of these spaces are layed out to allow for a lot of negative space, developing different heights of seating, and how this creates different aspects through the space, pushing the idea behind the communal working space
from this I wanted to try to design a seating arrangemet that included a individual seating arrangement using the facade as dividers between the desks.

Co Design Workshop Planning
I started to explore site maps, looking at the surronding communities around imperial lane, developing more insight into the building around imperial lane, brainstorming how I can develop a site plan to enforce my idea

from here I decided for co design that this type of site map didnt fit into my design, that it was too detailed and was hard to see the outline of imperial lane
I moved onto doing a plain outline for my site map, this process was simple and allowed me to focus on my renders and modeling more

I added a movement line to show that areas of movement through lower CBD as it shows an indication of the people I am trying to capture the attention of through Imperial Lane
- moving forward I wanna explore how I could elevate showing the communites of Auckland CBD and the overlap of these people
- adding shading to the buildings
- materials maybe??? materialality of my design isnt that important so does that take away from the design princples of my design
Co Design Workshop Planning
next week I wanna focus on my renders and floor plans, making everything simple and clear so its easier to understand
the most important aspect to me is my renders as this will convey my idea and show the feeling of the space, I wanna use a conjuction of rendering, photoshop and procreate to develop my final renders
